Learn how Panattoni has used BIM technology in the construction of the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Elk Grove, California.

BIM

It may not be a crystal ball, but it’s the next best thing.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an innovative technology that allows users to create a digital representation of the functional characteristics of a facility. BIM enables designers, contractors and owners to visualize the facility, its contextual fit on the site and operational procedures required for continual maintenance.

While BIM is the latest step in the evolution of architectural and contracting technology, the concept is not new. Since its founding, Panattoni Construction has used three-dimensional modeling during preconstruction. Our team’s attention to detail is a hallmark of our preconstruction process.

The BIM process accounts for the entire life cycle of a facility, while centralizing all pertinent information about the building, its associated costs, performance, essential systems and delivery. The technology provides a visible view of constructability, interconnectivity of building systems and aesthetic elements that may be less obvious during the traditional design and preconstruction process. By uncovering issues before they actually occur, we are able to reduce the number of redesigns during the project – saving our customers both time and money.

That’s a prediction everyone can appreciate.
